Deep dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate lightening of the edges. Red cherries, some liquorice and orange zest, floral touch is highlighted. Juicy, elegant, sweet fruit, good freshness, lingers, delicate nougat on the finish, good length, sure aging potential, accessible early on.

A delightful Siran in 2022 that manages to give the density of the vintage while remaining joyful and extremely drinkable. Textured tannins make the first impact, coating the mouth and giving a touch of seriousness to the profile before a mouthwatering succulence comes in, lifting the strawberry, raspberry and blackcurrant fruit. The soft fleshiness gives structure but this remains polished and quite sleek. A lovely Margaux to look out for with detail and drive.

Medium deep crimons. Pretty redcurrant, red plum, touch strawberry aromas with aniseed notes. Supple and sweet-fruited with fleshy redcurrant, strawberry, cassis fruits, chalky al dente tannins and some savoru nuances. Finishes chalky and long. (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot)

Attractive berry fruit here with spices and orange peel undertones. Medium- to full-bodied, toned and steady with compact tannin structure. Deep. Long finish with stony minerality. Most structured yet fine Siran I have tasted for a long time.

The 2022 Siran is one of the best wines I have tasted from the property. Silky, aromatic and light on its feet, Siran is exceptionally polished. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, chalk and white pepper all grace this exquisite Margaux. Superb. Drinking window : 2027-2047

Dense purple-hued with lots of darker, almost blue fruits as well as spicy oak and chocolate, the 2022 Château Siran is medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced, has plenty of mid-palate density, and fine tannins. This classic, elegant Margaux will need 4-6 years of cellaring and keep for 15-20 years. It's another undeniable success in the Margaux appellation.

The 2022 Siran was picked 13 to 30 September at 36hL/ha, matured in 35% new oak for a planned 12 months. It takes a little time cohering in the glass, a mixture of red and black fruit intermingling with cedar and pressed flowers. It is comparatively understated for the vintage, but that's a facet that I like and it delivers real freshness. The palate is medium-bodied and very harmonious, with finely-knit tannins, and a pleasant spiciness that unfolds with aeration (black pepper and clove). There's a build in the mouth allied with sapidity that urges you back for another sip. Siran has been on an upswing under Edouard Miailhe in recent vintages. The swing continues.

The Drinks Business

So beautiful on the nose with one of the most intensely floral of the aromatic profiles of the appellation – violet, peony, crushed rose petals, indeed the parfumier’s essence of each interwoven seamlessly with plump, dark, crisp and crunchy bramble, mulberry and black cherry fruit. Lots of freshness charges through the mid-palate, which is densely packed and yet diaphanous and always outlined by the most fine-grained and gossamer of tannins. Exudes class and, of course, would have been classified in 1855 were to not for a certain accident of history! As refined a wine as I have ever tasted here. 93-95.

Despite some reduction in the En Primeur sample, it could not impede the enchanting scent of its violets, accompanied by the aroma of dried plums, sour cherries, cloves, and allspice that exudes after a gentle swirl of the glass. In recent years, Château Siran has gradually shifted towards an elegant style, but it is commendable that it has not forgotten its intense tannin structure unique to Labarde. This is a powerful yet gentle Margaux vintage. Given its susceptibility to reduction, it is recommended to enjoy it after 7 years of bottle aging.

Lilacs, black raspberries, smoke, tobacco leaf, and cherries load the perfume. On the palate, the wine delivers fresh, red pit fruits, espresso, chocolate. blackberries and a fun, peppery, spicy note in the finish. The wine blends 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 11% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. 14% ABV. Harvesting took place September 13 - September 30. Drink from 2026-2050.
