Intensity is the keyword here. The wealth of ripe, and overripe white peaches, pineapples, pears, roasted cashews, apricots, spice, and vanilla is off the hook! The wine is rich, opulent, and seductive, but there is ample racy acidity giving this sweet treat the lift it needs. Long, and seamless, this is a true, decadent treat, that lovers of sweet wines should have in their cellars. It will age for decades. The wine was made from 100% Semillon. Drink from 2025-2060.

“Golden colour. Rich and expressive nose with aromas reminiscent of ripe apricots, dried apricots, peach jam, roasted peanuts and vanilla, with honey and brioche in the background. With some time in the glass, fine hints of white blossoms and candied orange zest emerge. On the palate, opulent yet elegant, with fine acidity taming the rich sweetness, excellent length, and a finish echoing the aromatic profile of the nose. A great Sauternes with purity and character.”

Suberb texture, with a wide spectrum of flavours: dried apricots, spring honey, saffron and orange marmalade. Vibrant, highly refreshing,with the rich flavour extending on the palate. A fantastic Sauternes. (ps The winemaker mentioned that the grapes used consist of 90% botrytised grapes and 10% passillage.)

The purity and focus is so impressive, with a linear nature and precision that goes on and on. Full-bodied and very sweet, with layers of fruit and such length. A solid and muscular Sauternes with a classic structure. 100% semillon. 150 g/L residual sugar. Drinkable now, but even better in seven or eight years.

Vinum

Minerally driven nose with ripe limes, honeysuckle, apricot, dates, and figs in the background; opulent and rich on the palate, with a vibrant vein of acidity present, the power of the fruit perfectly counterbalanced by the structure. Monumental and persistent, finishing on mango and bittersweet orange, leaving behind a saline mouthfeel. Excellent.

Vert de Vin Magazine

The nose is enveloping, perfumed and finely spicy on opening (vanilla, nutmeg), with precise, wrapped toast (toasted hazelnut, fresh almond, toasted wood). There are also lactic and pâtisserie notes of beurre noisette and lemon curd, white flowers (lime blossom, camomile),
