"An estate readers need to have on their radar..." - Jeb Dunnuck
"The most beautiful En Primeur La Dominique ever tasted." - Vinum
"97 points. Best in Show - Decanter World Wine Awards: This is a splendid example of the pleasures that the Right Bank’s most extensive appellation can bring in the very fine 2019 vintage, one that combines depth and ripeness with freshness. And charm ... The palate is long, expansive and deeply satisfying, perfectly poised on the cusp between the sweet tones of youth and the more sober grandeur that comes with age" - Decanter

James Suckling
This is very perfumed, with dried flowers, chocolate and hints of nuts to the dark fruit, following through to a full body with layers of fruit and a ripe, rich finish. Plush and ripe, yet still formed and pointed. Needs time to open and come together.
Antonio Galloni
The 2019 La Dominique is plump, juicy and super-expressive, all while avoiding the excesses of years past. Succulent dark cherry, plum, leather, licorice, menthol and tobacco are front and center. This is an especially voluptuous, racy style that works so well. Soft, creamy tannins wrap around the gorgeous, persistent finish.
Alexandre Ma
After several essays in 2018, the new winemaker Yann Monties surprised me again in 2019. Its Partially Hiden, Partially Visible storytelling is super chic. It seems not to have too much intensity, but it does possess full of details. The nose is similar to the vintage of 2018. It is still purely precise and features iconic violet and abundant spices. The entry of the palate is smooth, coupled with sweet and juicy crushed blackberries dancing on the palate. To be honest, this wine can be drunk now even though it was just bottled recently (bottled in march 2021). You can imagine how excellent this wine will be after several years of bottle aging.
Jeb Dunnuck
An estate readers need to have on their radar, the 2019 Château La Dominique is a beautiful Saint-Emilion coming from the northern sector of the region, not far from the Pomerol Bordeaux, which might explain why I always find a Pomerol-like elegance in this wine. Redcurrants, black raspberries, sappy flowers, sandalwood, tobacco, and hints of damp earth all define the nose, and the wine is medium to full-bodied, with a pure, layered, seamless mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's going to benefit from 4-6 years of bottle age and keep for two decades.
Vinous
The 2019 La Dominique presents a composed nose of blackberry and blueberry fruit, touches of cedar and sous-bois and a hint of humidor, complex and quite mercurial. The palate is medium-bodied with plush tannins, savory red fruit mixed with black pepper and sage, good depth, and a spicy, persistent finish. This has a promising future ahead of it.

Andreas Larsson, Tasted
Inky dark purple core and hue. Discreet oak and toast paired with ripe blackberry, plum and cassis notes. Dense and concentrated palate with a well-maintained freshness, ripe but plentiful tannin with concentrated and ripe dark fruit notes, still youthful but finely balanced in a rich and opulent style with a long persistent finish.
Robert Parker
The third vintage produced by the new team that is trying to take this irregular estate adjacent to Cheval Blanc to new heights is the 2019 La Dominique. Offering up aromas of sweet berries, cherries, mocha and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, with juicy acids, supple tannins and an elegantly gourmand profile. This is a terrific effort that shows that this estate's fine performance in vintages such as 1998, 1990 and 1989 is not a thing of the past.

Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
Celebraing 50 years under the ownership of the Fayat family, the first thing you notice is the dark color. Roses, dark chocolate, espresso, herbs, plums and black cherry scents. With more density than you find in previous vintages, you also find a supple, soft, sensuous, finesse oriented wine with silky, chalky tannins and layers of deep, dark, ripe fruits that express their purity in the long finish.
Vinum
Particularly flowery aromas; of beguiling elegance and great charm, extremely fine-grained tannin, excellently made; the most beautiful Primeur la Dominique ever tasted.
Decanter
Best in Show - Decanter World Wine Awards: This is a splendid example of the pleasures that the Right Bank’s most extensive appellation can bring in the very fine 2019 vintage, one that combines depth and ripeness with freshness. And charm. One sniff of this dark, still-opaque black-red wine will have you in its thrall: look out for layers of sumptuous, plump bramble and plum fruits given high-definition focus and a tempered sweetness from the season. The palate is long, expansive and deeply satisfying, perfectly poised on the cusp between the sweet tones of youth and the more sober grandeur that comes with age. The tannins are ample but tender, and the acidity almost contrives to suggest (in combination with that fruit and those tannins) the acidity you will find in fine dark chocolate. Assured winemaking with what are clearly outstanding raw materials from a propitious site. Alc 15%
