"The 2016 Suduiraut is fabulous. Crème br?lée, passion fruit, tangerine peel and exotic floral notes all race out of the glass. I marvel at how Suduiraut can deliver so much flavor intensity and yet remain so gracious and classy. The 140 grams of residual sugar are very well integrated. This is such a gorgeous wine."

Om Château Suduiraut, Sauternes

Alltid bland de närmaste utmanarna till världens främsta söta vin, nästan‑grannen Château d’Yquem. Vinet Suduiraut är lika ädelt och elegant som sin slottsbyggnad från 1670.

Suduiraut hade en kvalitetsmässig svacka på 1970‑talet (och delvis på 80‑talet), men har under de senaste årgångarna varit i strålande form.

Förändringen tillskrivs AXA Millésimes och manager Pierre Montégut, som sedan 1992 har återinfört låg avkastning, talrika skördeomgångar (i jakten på druvor med ädelröta) samt jäsning och lagring på ekfat (varav 50 % nya).

Sedan lanseringen av andravinet ”Les Lions” ingår endast de finaste druvorna i Suduirauts ”Grand Vin”.
