Meyneys mere perifere og dermed mindre tilgængelige beliggenhed i forhold til Bordeaux’ magtfulde vincentrum betød, at familien i stedet fokuserede på promoveringen af det mere besøgte og pompøse slot La Tour Carnet. Derfor er Château Meyney ikke klassificeret, selvom beliggenheden mellem Montrose og Calon Ségur tydeligt vidner om et exceptionelt potentiale – sandsynligvis på niveau med en 2. eller 3. Cru. Siden 2004 har Château Meyney været ejet af CA Grands Crus, der har iværksat en omfattende og ambitiøs moderniseringsplan med målsætning om at realisere terroirets svimlende kvalitetspotentiale. Vinfremstillingen er lagt i kompetente hænder hos Anne Le Naour, der har katapulteret vinens anseelse frem i St-Estèphes absolutte førerfelt, mens det moderate prisskilt placerer Meyney blandt de allerbedste køb i hele Bordeaux.
