From one of the top estates of Castillon, this profound, modern wine packs in huge flavour depth within the dense, but open-knit style of Castillon. Very extracted and ripe with cran-currant, fresh green herbs, evergreen, pepper, roasted red pepper aromas. Lots going on here. Including chocolaty oak. Full, warm and edgy. Actually drinkable now but will be enjoyable past early 2020s.

Cellar Selection - Stephan von Neipperg of Château Canon la Gaffelière was an early proponent of Castillon vineyard potential and chose this property which is on the same ridge as Saint-Emilion. Fruity and ripe, this is a generous wine. Finely structured tannins back up the black-currant fruits and give the wine a texture that bodes well for the future.

Sara d'Amato

A remarkable wine from the right bank region of Castillon. This Chateau has always has been a standout of this lesser appellation exhibiting a great deal of power and intensity. Concentrated, complex and drinking beautifully now but could hold out another 5 years or more. Quite balanced (despite some high alcohol that is nicely absorbed), tannins are supple but still uplifting. Fruit is abundant and the texture is velvety. Recommended.

This is so good already. What an amazing precision of fruit for this wine, with a blackberry and blueberry character as well as minerals. Full and super silky with lovely fruit. Gourmand. Tasty. I want to drink it. Always great value!
