Pomerol för fans av Cabernet Franc! Här till ett unikt krispris som vi har kunnat förhandla fram på en liten rest från Château Ferrand. Du kan bara googla och se vad dessa flaskor brukar kosta. Det här priset är galet.

Familjen Gasparoux har stått vid rodret för denna prisvärda pärla i Pomerol sedan 1934, då Fernand Gasparoux hittade och köpte sin drömterroir på bara 3,5 hektar. Två generationer senare har egendomen vuxit till 12 hektar, varav flera är gynnsamt belägna på Pomerols exklusiva och mytomspunna platå.

Som en följd av terroiren och familjens strikta fokus på kvalitet är Ferrand idag ett av de bästa köpen från högra bankens mest exklusiva vindistrikt.

All skörd och druvurval görs för hand. Andelen ny ek är noggrant dokumenterad och det mognar i "bara" en tredjedel nya franska barriquer för att bevara den eleganta strukturen.

“The nose is fresh, racy and reveals a floral character. There are notes of juicy blackberry, blueberry and a hint of graphite combined with bright blue berries, tart cherry and a hint of liquorice. The palate is mineral, racy, balanced and offers graphite/pencil lead, tension and minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, pulpy/fresh blue berries and more lightly blueberry combined with hints of lily, liquorice, a hint of ripe/fresh red berries as well as a subtle hint of graphite and toast and a subtle hint almost of chocolate (in the background). Supple on the palate. The tannins are well managed. Subtle chewiness on the finish.”

This shows aromas of plums and blueberries with milk chocolate, hazelnuts and crushed violets. Some crushed stones, too. Full-bodied with firm tannins that continue to build up throughout the palate. Deep core of ripe black and blue fruit. Chewy and tight, this needs some time to settle together. Lingering finish with hints of blue flowers.

On the nose, fruity, distinguished and offers a little chiseled edge, energy, a fine floral edge as well as a fine and very discreetly tight grain. It reveals notes of blackberry, wild raspberry and slightly wild berries combined with hints of graphite, pulpy blueberry, peppercorns as well as fine vanilla, cardamom, discrete toasted and incense notes. On the palate, fruity, balanced (nice balance) and offers a juicy/acidic frame, a distinguished minerality, richness in balance, a nice freshness, suavity, roundness, a good definition, a fine floral side and a discreet tight character. The wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy wild blackberry, bursting black currant and ripe/acidic blueberry tocuhes combined with hints of small black berries, gray pepper, graphite/incense and fine vanilla. The tannins are fine, straight, precise and mellow. Good length.
