Cassis, black raspberries, graphite, spicy oak, and floral notes all emerge from the 2020 Château Fombrauge, a wonderfully textured, medium to full-bodied, concentrated, yet elegant Saint-Emilion. A wine that builds beautifully with time in the glass, it complex, has ripe, silky tannins, and a great finish. Tasted on more than one occasion, it never failed to impress. Drink this richly textured, sexy, beautiful 2020 over the coming 15+ years.

Very mature on the nose showing notes of black prunes, blackberries, blueberries and camphor. Orange blossom in the background. Full bodied, slightly rigid tannins and a finale with optimum progression.

Ruby. Blackberries, anise, spices fruit driven nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, dark fruits, anise, spices, liquorice, detailed long finish.

Deep, dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, delicate ochre rim. Fine nougat, dark berries, ripe plums, subtle vanilla and fine oak, candied orange zest. Juicy, good complexity, chocolaty texture, fresh, well-structured with nicely integrated tannins, salty finish. Fine and savoury

The 2020 Fombrauge has a crisp blackberry, blueberry and cedar nose, subtle pine aromas filtering through with aeration. The medium-bodied palate delivers crunchy black fruit laced with cedar and very light ash notes. Good acidity here, and nice structure; a convincingly more classic Fombrauge, this, with fine grip toward the finish. I approve.
