"92-94 points. I continue to love the wines from Labégorce … Classic notes of darker currants, blackberries, smoked tobacco, and fresh earth all flow to a medium to full-bodied, pure, layered Margaux offering quality tannins as well as terrific purity of fruit." - Jeb Dunnuck
"93 points. Lots of fruit in the glass" - WinesCritic.com

Recensioner av Chateau Labégorce Margaux 2021
Markus del Monego MW
“Dark purple colour with violet hue and almost black core. Initially closed nose, needs time to open up. Distinct toasting and ripe fruit in th background. On the palate rather full-bodied with good length, ripe tannins, juicy character with fine toasting lingering in the finish.”
Revista Adega, Melhor Vinho
”The neoclassical building encompasses 70 hectares of vineyards, planted with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. It offers aromas of ripe plum and cherry, with a hint of forest floor. The wine features present tannins and beautiful acidity, showcasing elegance and a captivating bouquet. It promises to evolve beautifully for at least another decade.”
Jeb Dunnuck
I continue to love the wines from Labégorce. Their 2022 checks in as 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Classic notes of darker currants, blackberries, smoked tobacco, and fresh earth all flow to a medium to full-bodied, pure, layered Margaux offering quality tannins as well as terrific purity of fruit. Pulled from 85% of the total production and aging in 40% new French oak, it's going to offer pleasure right out of the gate yet still have two decades of longevity.
Vert de Vin Magazine
The nose is fruity and reveals a certain elegance and brightness. There are notes of crushed cherry, bright blackcurrant and, to a lesser extent, pulpy raspberry, combined with hints of violet, lily, as well as fine pepper and a discreet hint of salt. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, fleshiness, elegance, good definition, gourmandize, and an acidic backbone. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, bright cherry and, more slightly, blueberry, combined with delicate touches of bright black berries, lily, as well as a hint of Madagascar pepper, bourbon vanilla and a subtle touch of toastiness. Good length and persistence. The tannins are sapid and mellow.

Violets, espresso, cherries, black raspberries and the perfect, light touch of mint open the aromatics. The palate is fresh, elegant, racy and red, with cherry packed finish that ends up with a refreshing hint of spearmint at the end.

Lots of fruit in the glass reminiscent of strawberries, plums, sour cherries, dates and pressed blueberries. Medium-full body, well-composed soft tannins and a really solid finish.
Antonio Galloni
The 2022 Labégorce shows terrific energy and focus. Dark cherry, espresso, menthol, licorice and incense are beautifully delineated in a vibrant, pulsating Margaux loaded with complexity. All this needs is élevage to soften.
Vinous
“The 2022 Labégorce, which sees the introduction of Cabernet Franc, was picked 12 September to 5 October and aged in 40% new oak. This needs a little time to find its voice on the nose, touches of black pepper infusing the red and blueberry fruit. There is a hint of terracotta. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, tensile, expressive with a lightly spiced, gentle grip. Just a bit of dryness appears on the finish but that will round out during élevage. This will be an utterly charming Margaux.”
Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
Cloves, cocoa bean and coffee, intense tannins and grilled oak with plenty of character, and the winemaking team has done a good job over ageing to emphasise a signature Left Bank character that is missing in so many wines this year. Cool vintage slim and graceful blue and black fruits, mouthwatering with liqourice root and slate. Harvest September 23 to October 19. Limestone subsoil, with clay and gravel, 3.75ph. An upscore.

We appreciate the 2021's digestible, fairly supple, and juicy character, which gives the wine an immediate appeal. It’s a wine to be enjoyed fairly soon.
