This is so soft and silky yet vibrant, cascading ripe red and blanck fruits across the palate with ease, as minerals slowly saturate. It’s lightly structured with ripe plums and spice, hints of licorice and a flourish of salty minerals.“

Bright, brilliant ruby red. Hearty, open nose of ripe cherries and ripe raspberries, delicately of cloves and fine spice. On the palate with tightly woven tannins and a classy play, of fine blood oranges, very juicy and salty in the finish.

It offers aromas of black cherries, red berries, leather, black olives, dried green herbs, tar, violet, forest floor, crushed stone and a touch of mint. On the palate this is medium-bodied with a mouthful of juicy red and dark berries which combine with earthy flavors that burst on to the long supple finish. Showing incredible freshness and concentration this should of on to drink exceedingly well for the next decade."

Giovanni Neri is the first line of Rosso di Montalcino dedicated to the founder of the estate. It comes from Sesta vineyard, purchased in 2017 and planted with 50-year-old Sangiovese vines. The wine ages in tonneaux for 15 months. Aromas of rose, violet, black berries, an almost blueberry scent, then earth and Parma violet in depth. Complex and well packed on the palate, it displays refined velvety tannins and long, delicate acidity. Cherry and violet on the finish.
