2021 är ännu inte recenserad, men vi vågar redan avslöja att kvaliteten är skyhög! 100-poängshuset Casanova di Neri skämmer bort dina smaklökar med ett brak från en Sangiovese från en enskild vingård… packad med silkeslena skogsbär, läcker lakrits och mörk mineralitet från vinrankor som är upp emot 50 år gamla.

Giovanni Neri är en unik hyllning till Casanova di Neris grundare. En helt ovanlig Rosso som på alla sätt andas Brunellos storhet.

Druvorna kommer från ett toppläge i Sesta, ett Brunello-certifierat läge. Ägaren insisterade på att endast sälja till en Montalcino-familj som var från området och som skulle stanna kvar... Nu visar Casanova di Neri verkligen klassen!

Giovanni Neri is the first line of Rosso di Montalcino dedicated to the founder of the estate. It comes from Sesta vineyard, purchased in 2017 and planted with 50-year-old Sangiovese vines. The wine ages in tonneaux for 15 months. Aromas of rose, violet, black berries, an almost blueberry scent, then earth and Parma violet in depth. Complex and well packed on the palate, it displays refined velvety tannins and long, delicate acidity. Cherry and violet on the finish.

Bright, brilliant ruby red. Hearty, open nose of ripe cherries and ripe raspberries, delicately of cloves and fine spice. On the palate with tightly woven tannins and a classy play, of fine blood oranges, very juicy and salty in the finish.

Från glaset stiger en ungdomlig doft av suverän Sangiovese med intensiva violer, mörka körsbär och djupa skogsbär, medan toscanska örter, engelsk lakrits, läder och lyxiga fatkryddor tillför en Brunello-liknande komplexitet till helhetsintrycket... Ett vin med en ofattbar koncentration tack vare toppvinfältets snart 50 år gamla vinstockar! På tungan en Sangiovese med en sällsynt mix av kraft och ungdomlig drickglädje... Saftig, saftig avslutning med tryffelliknande skogsbundsmineralitet, matvänliga tanniner och de läckraste kryddorna från fatlagringen... Om Casanova Di Neri

Världsmästare i Sangiovese? Casanova di Neri har skrapat ihop fler hundra poängutmärkelser än vi omedelbart kan hålla reda på. Wine Spectator säger det rakt ut: ”Verdens bedste Brunello-producent”. 1971 planterade Neri-familjen sina första vinstockar, och 1978 lanserade man sin första vin. Idag förfogar huset över 66 hektar vingårdar. Från de kallaste terroirerna, nära egendomen i nordöstra Montalcino, skördas druvor till Cerretalto och White Label, medan det berömda Tenuta Nuova görs av druvor från varmare odlingar söder om Montalcino. Medan ”White Label” hyllar den klassiska Brunello med lång lagring på stora slavonska fat, flirtar både Cerretalto och Tenuta Nuova diskret med det moderna. Båda lagras på 500-liters franska ekfat, varav dock endast 5% är nya. Tre olika uttryck av Sangiovese, tre djupt fascinerande världsklassviner.
